It's All Entertainment

My life has always revolved around the entertainment industry. I was the son of a country music musician. I grew up here in southern California. I went to college in Los Angeles. There was really just no escaping it. When I was very young, I would create "Luke-a-lodian" theaters in my parents living room and invite my brother and sister to watch films (vhs tapes). I created stop motion videos and silly homemade infomercials. While I was still very young I was my dad's low-cost sound engineer/roady.

Once I started college I also started working at Disneyland. My dream was always to be an Imagineer or at least CEO of Disney. In college I created GC animations for my Imagineering affiliated class "The Art and Process of Immersive Entertainment" describing our groups ideas for rides and attractions to Disney executives; it was a rare and amazing opportunity. I wanted to tell my stories and the immersive story telling is my favorite medium. Oddly, when my interest of Economics in college got me caught up in the wildly boring world of Accounting. I finally escaped public accounting.

My day job now (when I am so lucky) is that of an Extra. Silly as it may sound I am officially referred to as a Background Artist. A lot of the time I am also a Stand-In. I have been a member of SAG-AFTRA since 2009 and got my start in the industry working on JJ Abrams' first Star Trek movie as an Starfleet Officer, every StarTrek fan/nerd's dream. I stumbled into this 'gig' responding to an open call my friend heard on the radio, shortly after I quit at Ernst & Young. I really couldn't believe it when I saw other people who made a living (of sorts) out of being an Extra. I was perfectly suited (and happy) to live the poverty level lifestyle that this job afforded. [see Economics]

None of my grand artistic / entertainment dreams have yet come to pass. But thanks to the powerful technological advances in production equipment, easy of distribution afforded by the internet, and my own cognitive development [see Philosophy]. I've started my work in entertainment! I have decided to write, film, design, and teach via the internet. "It's all entertainment" as my dad would say quoting [Reference Omitted].

I You'll find my entertainment projects in each of the categories above or on my site.
